Session I will begin at 3:30 in the rear of the hall and will feature a one owner 100 plus collection Civil War era collectibles, ephemera, photos, prints, books and other items of historical interest collection. Session II will begin at 5:30 and will be an Antique Estates Auction featuring the partial contents and items drawn from W. Roxbury, Dover, Framingham, and Cape Cod homes with selected additions.

PARTIAL LISTING

Session I - Civil War: The collector in Session I has had an interest in history and the Civil War since he was a young man and began collecting several years ago.   The auction offers a large number of interesting items for Civil War era and military collectors as well as ephemera, photos, books, prints and items of interest for general collectors and dealers. Among the items to be offered include 2 Mansfield and Lamb cavalry swords (dated 1862 & 1865 (lot 271)), US export sword (Post CW) lot 275, infantry Kepi stamped brass insignia on top sweatband missing, GAR souvenir swords lots 273 and 274, rifles including Springfield contract musket Trenton, NJ, Civil War era smooth bore musket etc., old lg drum with eagle decoration Slingerland Chicago, IL, lantern slides and stereo view cards including crew on the deck of Ironclad monitor, GAR slouch hat, military and fraternal hats incl RI kepi style hat RI Knights of Pitheus, cannonballs, mourning pin and photo, old whiskey flasks and personal items.   Nice books and book lots (lot #250, Lot #252, Lot #254, Lot #255, etc.) to include Frank Leslie’s Illustrated History of the Civil War, etc.. There are many interesting prints including 4 prints Army of the Potomac Edwin Forbes, Currier and Ives, battle prints (lot 324, lot 323), Presidents, etc. He had a particular interest in President Lincoln and other Presidents and there are several lots of presidential items, large Emancipation Proclamation print, several lots of interesting photos, CDVs, daguerreotypes and other photography. A Civil War era family CDV photo album “Mary Vaughn’s Album”, a CDV leather album 1864 presentation presented to Driscilla P. Emerson Christmas 1864, framed ambrotype RI soldier, Puck political cartoons, and many other items.
